I find it absolutely amazing how long this "Simple" part of the project took. I spent nearly a full day wandering around Home Depot, Lowes, and a couple electrical supply houses, attempting to figure out the best and least expensive way to implement the power distribution panel.

Now that the system is fabricated, it looks pretty simple, but it took an entire day to assemble. In any event, here's how the power is distributed.

• Out of the Generator head via three 4 gauge copper conductors.
• Into a 70 amp main breaker enclosure, which also servers as the main disconnect switch.
• Out of the 70 amp enclosure and into a 125amp 6 slot electrical sub panel.
• Once in the sub panel, it is broken into 6 separate circuits
  • Two 50 amp 220vac welder outlets
  • Four 20Amp 120Vac duplex outlets, enclosed in two 4-way boxes

Currently the whole affair is "temporarily" mounted to a 2' x 2' plywood board. Once I get the generator enclosure fabricated, I'll transplant the electrical panel to the exterior of the generator enclosure. In the mean time, this simple distribution board will let me get on with testing, that is ONCE MY LOVEJOY COUPLERS ARRIVE..... If I had the damn couplers I could probably be making electricity by the end of tomorrow. Oh well, patience is a virtue, right :)
