The Driver Board
OK, this is going to be short and sweet. You need a Mel Bartels’ compatible stepper
driver board. This board will go from
the parallel printer port to the motors for each axis. Here are some example boards:
- www.bbastrodesigns.com
Here are some notes:
- The software
expects the driver card to be attached to LPT1 @ &h378 (I can fix
this, but I’m lazy!)
- The hand
pad can be used to move the platform about, but its not neccisary
- If you
need help wiring your motors, check out the Yahoo Group Scope-Drive
archives. Lots of good data in
there.
- BTW,
don’t worry about rotational direction of the motors. The software allows for swapping axis
drives, as well as rotational direction.
That’s it, like I
said, this one’s short and sweet J
