The Driver Board

OK, this is going to be short and sweet. You need a Mel Bartels’ compatible stepper driver board. This board will go from the parallel printer port to the motors for each axis. Here are some example boards:

Here are some notes:

1. The software expects the driver card to be attached to LPT1 @ &h378 (I can fix this, but I’m lazy!)
2. The hand pad can be used to move the platform about, but its not neccisary
3. If you need help wiring your motors, check out the Yahoo Group Scope-Drive archives. Lots of good data in there.
4. BTW, don’t worry about rotational direction of the motors. The software allows for swapping axis drives, as well as rotational direction.
